Hannah, Laura and Paul, three American interns for
IGL, along with Rebecca Stanley of India Gospel League, traveled to the village
of Sariki in Andhra Pradesh. The village
people, pastor and family warmly welcomed them. The day began with a lively
worship service singing praises to the Lord. The church quickly filled with
believers and non-believers. The church currently has 60 believers. Corporate
prayer and a short testimony from the pastor followed the worship service.
Then, Rebecca Stanley introduced the adopt-a-village program to the church and
announced that this program would officially be taking place in their village.
The people were very thankful and excited for future growth and support. She
encouraged them to use this opportunity to go and reach out to their village
themselves, not to rely on others to bring about change. She encouraged the
believers to be a light in their village, and through them, the Lord will be
able to save many. She also gave an inspiring message on the great commission
and then introduced the American team: Hannah, Laura and Paul from Ohio. Their church, NeoXenos, began sponsoring
Sariki about two months ago. The villagers and pastor were very pleased to meet
them. They passed out Telugu Bibles to new believers of the church. The interns
were honored to finally meet people of Sariki and were humbled by their
hospitality. The program ended with more corporate prayer and worship.
